AVIS is NOT THERE

Driving in from Phuket airport we turn into hotel and there is a giant AVIS car rental sign. We needed to rent a car and thought "great" AVIS is here and they even have a nice neat little desk with AVIS brochures. Problem is no one from AVIS sits there and when you want to rent you have to take a taxi across town for only 300 baht as they do not offer any courtesy pick up. Hotel is beautiful but slightly outside of the center of town. A lot of rude guests coming in giant bus tours where apparently it is customary in their country to both yell outside in the hall while pounding on the door to let their family \ friends and everyone else in the floor that they are there. Overall okay place to stay but for me 1 and DONE.
