relaxing, secluded, friendly staff and great food,
We had wonderful time at the Sananwan Beach. A great value for money, and also what became even more and more difficult to find along coastal Thailand - a famous Thai hospitality, a genuine, not a commercial type. Live-in staff, Thai couple, really made us feel like a house guest regardless some communication problem – their English is very limited, but any communication problem we had was easily solved by Bangkok-based management accessible virtually any time by just a phone call.
There is a lot of things we found really enjoyable during our stay – deserted and secluded great stretch of sandy beach - all yours for swim or walk, breathtaking view of Koh Thalu (we took a boat tour for snorkelling, it was fun!), large and very nicely appointed rooms for a great price. The house is clean and just a few steps to the beach. Also food was delicious. As we like to make our own decision on our menu we bought sea food and fresh vegetables at the local markets and Gai (the hostess) cooked it for us the way we like. Don’t expect any crazy nigh life – it’s very tranquil and rustic place, although one can find some bars and karaoke clubs at a short ride to close-by towns but we are not in for this type of entertainment. Being bit adventurous we found many unique attractions in the area like waterfalls, temples, ancient gold mine, and we also had a great time chilling out with a cup of tea and a book in a beach pavilion on stilts right above the tide. Overall – it was an aithentic Thai experience, highly recommended if you are looking for a relaxed vacation time.
