We were upgraded on arrival by Jum, lovely lady, who helped us with a very quick check-in so we were able to make the most of the pool immediately. There was a slight issue with the shower so we were temporarily upgraded to the presidential suite which was great. The following day we were moved to another equally good suite. Our room was very spacious and I have to mention again how great the staff were, we dealt mainly with Lucky and Jum and both were helpful in assisting us to arrange day trips, transport etc. The hotel is up the hillside from Patong, and is a steep walk if you dare to brave it. My husband and I walked it almost 3 times in our 5 day stay out of defiance of having to pay the taxi driver 300baht to drive up the hill (this is a Phuket taxi issue, they are overpriced compared to the rest of Thailand). The food at Baan Yin Dee's Rice Restaurant was good and well priced for hotel food. the bass fish dish was amazing! Amari resort down the hill has a good restaurant for a romantic sunset view, wouldn't recommend the food but drinks were good. All in all if you are looking to be near enough to Patong but don't want to be in the centre of it then Baan Yin Dee is a good option, you get the view over Patong beach, fireworks at night, the sound can travel so if you are a light sleeper like me then take earplugs along for the stay (the disco taxis also play their music at full volume when driving along the main road at the front of the hotel, this affects the best rooms, pool front suites and the presidential room also.
