Having travelled around much of South East Asia for several years now, I've never stayed in a place quite so accommodating for me as a wheelchair user as Baan Khaolak.
Baan Khaolak is an exception in this part of the world in its ongoing commitment to provide a place wheelchair users can feel comfortable and enjoy the many wonderful experiences Thailand has to offer. Staff are warm, friendly and enabling; I was able to swim in the pool, get massages and even go down onto the beach using one of the beach wheelchairs Baan Khaolak provided.
The resort is next to the beach, surrounded by lush green trees and foliage, the sound of the tide flowing provides a pleasant ambience around the resort. Rooms are clean and feel relatively spacious compared to other places I've stayed in Thailand. Khaolak still remains unspoilt by tourism and the resort is located close enough to walk/wheel to a variety of local restaurants and shops and book excursions to nearby places of interest.
