Phuket Merlin Hotel

The Merlin is in a a now unsalubrious area in the northern part of the town a good 15 minutes walk from the centre of Phuket. There are no eateries nearby and the area has a run-down look. The exterior of the hotel, once white, is scruffy and needs a good facelift. Mine was supposed to be a DeLuxe room but there was little that was De Luxe about it. That said, it was clean and comfortable and everything worked. The food was unremarkable. Guests were minimal. It seems that tourists are choosing beach front hotels and the Merlin has little to recommend it these days.

Merlin not recommended
I stayed in the Phuket Merlin thinking it would make getting to the Phi Phi Islands easier. The location is terrible for this ---far away from the town & even further from the ferry port. The hotel is... อ่านต่อ

some days are okay
for some days to go around the island the hotel is okay. if you had visited the other beaches by taxi or public bus, you can go with the shuttle bus (free of charge) to two merlin hotels in patong or ... อ่านต่อ
