This boutique hotel is new, so we weren't sure what to expect. It was wonderful. Our room was spacious and beautifully decorated. The bathroom was roomy and equipped with a large shower and full amenities like shampoo, shower gel, dental kits, etc. We appreciated the location in a quieter part of the Old City. Despite being close to a busy road, it was very tranquil. The breakfasts were incredible. We started each day with lattes, fresh fruit and scones, a breakfast entre - some choices a bit unusual but all well-prepared - and a freshly prepared mixed juice (try the Burn). The staff was warm and welcoming. It was like being invited into someone's home. We even received a gift on departure. Things to know: this isn't budget accommodation. They are going for a boutique hotel experience, and delivered. Also...guests are asked to remove shoes before entering the hotel. I quite like this; cool hardwood feels lovely on the feet after a day walking around Chiang Mai. Little lockers are provided to secure your shoes. Although the cafe is established, the Rich Garden House hotel has only been open 6 months. We loved our stay here.
