Lovely spot, With issues
The room was lovely, the view was lovely, the gardens were lovely. The location, a 19 minute walk from town, was fine. They also run a free shuttle bus, just call them, they pick you up. The bathroom was basic, but fine.
A few big problems that I hope they will iron out given time.
1. The two very young people left in charge spoke no English and didn't seem to know what they were doing. Mangement weren't there.
2. The breakfast was the worst I have ever seen, anywhere in the world. Bad and unhygenic. Warm tuna mayonnaise sandwiches, processed "spam" and a cold fried egg. My vegetarian breakfast never came, I waited 50 minutes before leaving.
3. The design is nice but ill conceived, the bathroom door flexed when pushed ( the wet wood expanded because it was wet, making it stick), the large, flimsy glass panel shattered. It could have been very dangerous for my son.
Also, nice rooms in Pai are incredibly cheap and easy to find, there really is no need to book a place like this. We booked it as a "treat" and because breakfast was included. VERY disappointing. I'm a professional traveller, we stay in hotels full-time, I don't leave bad reviews lightly. I hope they can improve given this feedback.
