Lovely hotel and good location

we stayed in the penthouse villa and loved it. rooms were nice and big, shower was great. no was swims on the beach which is a negative but the pool and jacuzzi and nice enough. we enjoyed the location as very close to the airport and away from chaweng however sometimes the plans fly over top and it can be a little loud for 20 seconds. like all over thailand there were go-go bars around but easily ignored and along the road are some great places to eat and very reasonable prices. we never ate at the hotel because they were charged too much for meals. i would recommend the mermaid restaurant across the road that belongs to the mermaid hotel and also a great family owned restaurant on the border of big buddha and bophut called tam thai. great prices and very nicely done up. overall loved the hotel and location.
