We recently booked a 2-bedroom villa. The villa itself was beautiful - Thai-style - with windows and doors that opened the entire place up. However, if you are not used to the traditional Thai style houses, be prepare for outdoor bathrooms and no screens in the windows (mosquito netting is provided) – and NO AIR CONDITIONING.
Between the heat, mosquitos, and dogfights in the middle of the night, we really had a hard time sleeping. Naps were even hotter and near impossible with construction noise coming from the restaurant. I had really high expectations of the restaurant – advertised as using organic ingredients with a diverse menu – but found the food options limited and not very good.
Luckily, the pool was nice because the beach (though very private) was very rocky and not really swimmable.
It’s also difficult and expensive to get on and off Koh Jum. we were not traveling in luxury by any stretch of the imagination.
Overall, we didn’t have a great experience and would not recommend this hotel.
