terrific location, close to everything and quiet!
I have now stayed at so many places in Chiang Mai my head is spinning, but this is rather good. I tend to look at price first, and concentrate on bargains, which are getting harder and harder to find, but this one comes at an average to below average price. The rooms are dated but spacious and clean, and the bathroom I had was huge, with a full bathtub!
Even though the lodge is only fifty metres off Loy Kroh Road, the major nightlife area, it is incredibly quiet. The staff were very helpful, particularly the manager during the day time, and she always went out of her way to ask how I was and if I needed anything. Although I didn't use the service it appeared they would be well equipped to assist with tours or referrals. Similarly, I didn't use the breakfast or adjoining restaurant but they certainly looked clean and offered a good menu. Breakfast was not included in my package, which is ok, I don't usually eat it, but at 100 baht it looked like pretty good value compared to many hotels.
The bed was comfortable and made for really good, restful sleeps.
All in all I would definitely stay here again, it's not for the five star traveller but it does offer a good place to sleep at a good price with so much of Chiang Mai's vibrant night life pretty much at your door. three minute walk to the night bazaar, or you can walk to the Saturday or Sunday walking streets without any problem. Also, in this area, if you had to wait more than twenty seconds for a tuk tuk or taxi, there'd be something very wrong!
