A little off the beaten path but worth it!

We chose Khao Sok Silver Cliff Resort based off the amazing reviews and the beautiful location & were not disappointed! I will say it is a tad far from the park entrance-about 2-3km-but the walk from the bus stop is easy and only takes about 25 mins, otherwise its a 200 baht cab ride there. Once at the resort there are free bikes for you to ride anywhere you wanted which was fantastic being able to take our time and explore at our own pace. Karen, the new owner of the place (who is seriously the most friendly and amazing woman ever!) recommended we ride over to this nearby temple where there are monkeys running around everywhere.
The resort just changed ownership and Karen is working very hard to make Silver Cliffs an amazing resort, but as with any renovation it takes time. The bungalows are pretty much what you would expect-simple with mattresses on the floor& mozzie net, a fan and outlet for charging, as well as your standard Thai outdoor exposed bathroom with a heated shower. There obviously were small bugs here and there but it is the Thailand jungle after all.... that sort of thing should not bother you. The designs of the bungalows were cute and they all had great views and a little deck attached! Tons of wooden windows you can open inside too to enjoy the beauty of outside. The resort has a gorgeous common area where there are hammocks and a waterfall, and the Thai people that work there-Guy and Jan-cook wonderful food and are so friendly. The WiFi connection wasn't the best, but by no means is that a deal breaker.
Karen helped us with the bus schedule and Guy even drove us to the bus stop on our last day so we didn't have to walk! The resort also offers several excursions and ideas for trips within the park and we thought they were very reasonably priced and also conveniently picked up from the resort! If you are adventurous people looking for a place more in nature and away from the touristy main strip I would definitely recommend this place to you.
