I spent two nights at the Day Waterfront Hotel prior to the slow boat river cruise to Luang Prabang, Lao. The room was clean and quite large with a desk, table and chairs in the room as well as a table and chairs on the balcony. The view from the balcony of the Mekong River and Lao was fantastic. After traveling through Bangkok and Chiang Mai, it was nice to sit on the balcony and enjoy the quiet while watching the traffic on the river. The location is within 2 blocks of the two top rated "cheap eats" in Chiang Khong. The WiFi was strong as was the AC. The best part of my stay was visiting with the owners. They are proud of their town and I felt like I was guest in their home and not just a customer. I would stay here again and have no issue recommending this hotel to anyone looking for a quiet, inexpensive place to stay prior to crossing into Lao.

Charming town and fantastic staff

Perfect location
The Day Waterfront Hotel exceeded our expectations. The room was big, clean and with a beautiful view on the Mekong river. The owners were very helpful, friendly and had a lot of valuable advise.
