Sensational place to Stay

We were treated to the most sensational stay we have had so far from a place we didn't know. The owner of this hotel is wonderful. True to the word hospitality in every way. from our greeting to our departure she was wonderful and so was her offsider the travel agent. They were most welcoming and warm, did not try to upsell us at any time and were extremely friendly and helpful. The little breakfast they provide of pastries, Thai sweets and tea & coffee is just perfect for that snack to get you going. We were upgraded to a huge room with the most incredible view of the Mekong. I watched the fog roll over the river and lift and took some of the most wonderful photos.
just up the street and around the corner are two 'aunties' who make crepes and we ordered a chocolate and banana crepe. Just heaven and so friendly. Chiang Khong is a wonderful place and people would be better off staying a few days instead of just using it as a launchpad to Laos. I know I will stay about a week next time and definitely at the Day Waterfront. Can't wait to return and experience true hospitality once again.
