I stayed at Klong Jak for 3 nights and absolutely loved it. It is located at the very bottom of the island so there isn't much to do but relax, sit on the beach and eat. The beach was spectacular and on a busy day, there were 25 people on the beach. It was perfect. To get to the main part of Kok Lanta, you had to rent a scooter ($250/day overpriced if you ask me). The restaurant had a wide variety of food and the food was really good. This place works like a well oil machine and the staff are on the ball. At night, the bar at the restaurant turns into a chilled out place to hang out, play jenga and meet fellow travelers. My bungalow wasn't overly exciting but I had my own bathroom and I'm not fussed about fancy rooms as long as they're safe and clean.
It is also really close to the National Park and to the Waterfall. Neither of which I visited both of which are supposed to be nice.
