I booked the Delux room around 6 weeks before the arrival, Agoda called and emailed me less than a week to inform that the Deluxe rooms were fully booked and that the hotel has agreed to upgrade us to the Premier rooms in view that it was not our fault. I even have the email in writing.
To our horror, on the afternoon of the arrival, we were assigned to the Superior rooms-below the price point of what we paid for. The hotel front staff apparently tried to pass off the rooms as the Deluxe room to me and my friend. We were of course upset and informed them that we had the email confirmation that we paid for the Deluxe rooms way in advance, and that they should either give us back the minimum or upgrade us at no charge.
The front counter staff then called the local Agoda office and explained the matter. It appeared to me that there was some misunderstanding between them and the hotel staff. Only after 3-4 hours was the matter resolved-an very very unfortunate way to start my trip
