Good but not very good

We have nothing major to complain about, our stay was ok. The roof top bar is really quite nice, though a bit stereotypical. But the view and the space is stunning. But unfortunately other guests were not happy, as we overheard several guests complaints when we were in the reception or at breakfast. One had many ants in the bed and around the room. Another family had a loud checkout when we had breakfast. The restaurant & reception is only divided by a sheer curtain, so it sent out bad vibes to all guests eating their breakfast, including us. Also at the rather lengthy, and not very friendly check in we were informed that children under age 16 sleeps for free in the room, great. But later as we asked for the bed for our 14 year old son, we were informed that extra bed is still 1,200 baht charge. That is ok, but please don't first give us good news and later inform us about the bad news....
