I stayed in AM Surin for 7 nights, taking a chance on an Agoda discount price for roughly US$ 21 per night (without breakfast). At this rate, the AM Surin is a top choice: spacious, clean double-rooms with balcony, super friendly and helpful staff, great facilities (elevator and a decent pool on the 2nd floor).
If you want to go to the beach, it's about a 5 minutes walk, and beach towels are provided for free.
The regular price during low season seems to be around US$ 25, which is still an excellent value for money.
However, Agoda lists the regular price for the Deluxe rooms as US$ 77, which I would consider exaggerated, given the absence of a sea view and the building showing some signs of its 4-years-age (despite the very good maintenance and efficient room service).
Wifi is OK, though sometimes erratic.
If privacy is important to you, avoid the pool-side rooms on the 2nd floor: unless you shut the curtains, everybody around the pool will get easy peeks into your room.
