the room is alright but the building is a mess

Overrated. The building is an old flat with unused furniture lying around the corridors. The lighting reminded me of a horror film honestly. But once we entered the room, everything seemed fine. I happen to have stayed at many hotels in Bangkok especially in kaosan. I have seen those lower rated hotels have better facilities, better locations with about the same price.
