This hotel checks most budget traveler boxes. Just outside are many food stalls at most hours, & is just beyond the KhaoSan Rd area, so the hotel area is fairly quiet, yet just a short 5-minute walk to all the KhaoSan Rd fun. An awesome craft beer bar and two nice live music bars near by.
RE: staff, they can provide helpful advice on transportation options to requested places, as well as provide extra hotel supplies, or change rooms if the room is not to one's liking. Unfortunately, most of the staff's attitude on 1st meeting can be quite off-putting, with their serious look on their faces, & reluctance to use English, which most apparently can when pressed.
Re: the hotel, a horrible, loud rooftop electrical squealing noise can be heard from most of the 2nd-4th floor rooms. So we moved from a noisy 4F to a smelly 1F room. We settled on an acceptable 2F room. Also hot drinking water is only found in the 1F lobby, & no tea kettle or thermos are available. Not good for most Asians.
