We are in the best resort I have ever stayed in. The Bura Rasi Hotel on Koh Samui. It's not the decor, although that is beautiful. It's not the beach, although it's white sand and turquoise water. It's the service. It's what every hotel aspires to, but this one actually achieves. There are only 30 guest rooms. I think the staff outnumbers the guests. The attention to detail is amazing. The waiter remembers that I'm gluten-free and asks if I'd like a special bread. When there are no more loungers in the shade, the towel man moves one into the shade for me and ties my towel to it. The gardeners silently keep the grounds manicured - no blowers, just a small broom and scoop. I talked to the front desk about attending a temple ceremony, and how to take a taxi there. When they next saw me, they'd arranged the hotel car and a guide to take us. Dinner on the beach with a fire show.
