Very tired and run down resort

You get the sense that this was once a great resort but time has not been kind to it. The rooms are old, dirty and badly set out. No bedside lights or table, no wastepaper basket in the rooms, very few plugs, patchy internet, inefficient aircon.
The restaurant was overpriced but the food, at least, was good and one member of staff went out of their way to make us vegetarian food.
The hotel boasts of being under German management, who we presume was the farang cleaning the pool every morning, but we are not sure as he didn't introduce himself and seemed to do nothing else.
And we are not sure why he bothered cleaning the pool since it quickly filled up with leaves again due to being under 4 trees.
There are many better appointed, better located and better priced hotels in Chiang Mai than this.

excellent hotel thailands answer to the amazon !
