A lovely place to stay
As a family of four, travelling with a 3 year old and a 4 month old, we were delighted with the Sayang Beach Resort. It had almost everything we needed.
We had one of the bungalows furthest from the beach as it was all that was available when we booked, but it didn't matter. The bungalow was extremely spacious with more than enough room for all of us, and it was spotlessly clean, including the bathroom which was light and airy with modern fittings. Even though we were pretty much the furthest bungalow from the beach, it was not more than a pleasant 2 minute walk through the gardens.
Staff were extremely helpful and friendly throughout or stay.
Breakfast was very good in our view - lots of fresh fruit & yogurt, bread/toast & jam, cold meat, Thai style food (noodles/rice), tea/coffee etc - though if you want a western style fry-up don't get your hopes up as they don't do this - it wasn't a problem for us!
The restaurant and bar are good and reasonably priced. It's just a short walk along the beach if you want to try others.
Any negatives? Not really. There isn't a pool - again, not a problem for us. The sea is beautifully clear and warm - why would you need a pool?!!
Other reviews mention that the sun loungers in the shade are all reserved by people's towels early in the morning - this is true and was possibly the only negative thing for us. It's pretty selfish of people to be honest, particularly as during much of the day these people are nowhere to be seen!
All in all, this is a really great place to stay, good value, and we can't recommend it more highly!
