Ultimately a great place to stay
we stayed at sayang beach for seven nights and ultimately had a really lovely time. highlights were the amazing beach front, faboulous services like the bar, the masseurs and the restaurant, and a location a nice easy distance from salander and well located to explore the rest of the island. the low light was that they initially put us in the worst rooms in the resort – next to the car park, opposite the staff quarters (ie the least attractive part of the resort) and you could hear the electronic music from the neighbouring club from about 6 – 12. the room also was below par with no wi-fi connection, a shower that barely dribbled water, a really hard bed and a broken door lock. to their credit, they put me in a better room after i complained after two nights but putting you in the worst room seems to be common practice by hotels for guests who book on line. once i was in a nice room, that matched what we had paid, we had a really lovely time. all the rooms are different and quirky - just some in a quirky bad taste/bad quality and the rest are quirky in really interesting way. i would definitely stay there again if i could be assured that i had a nice room.
