Great resting spot between Bangkok & Southern Thai

provides a convenient, charming rest stop between Bangkok and destinations in southern Thailand. At approximately 550 km from Bangkok, and only a few extra minutes off of the main highway, it provides a tranquil setting after 5.5 - 6.5 hours of driving. We stayed in a Nimman Villa, which had adequate room and a good quality king size mattress. During the night we heard what sounded like animals (mice? Cat?) around the villa structure, but this is not unexpected in a rural garden setting and there were no signs of unwanted animals inside. The main area is not on the beach, but has a well maintained garden and pool area. The restaurant had good quality food (fish with chili sauce and seafood Thom Kha). We brought our own wine & were not charged corkage fee. Breakfast was made to order and included Asian & Western choices. Ingredients were fresh, including fresh orange juice. The price is a bit high for the region, but for a weary traveler it might be worth the relaxing atmosphere.
