Spacious & great location with adequate facilities
I would strongly recommend staying in a service apartment in Bangkok as it is so much more spacious and value-for-money as compared to a hotel. The space of the living room and kitchenette is lovely - you can have a party in the apt itself!
The location is great as well, in the more upmarket(safer?) region of bkk, within close proximity to Chitlom BTS & the popular shopping areas. I particularly like how it is located in a peaceful & quiet spot but yet is right smack in the city centre -- within 5-7 mins of walking we get ourselves right into the action of the bustling shopping belt.
However the guards & staff could all brush up on their effort to ensure their guests' safety. They really couldnt care less what kind of taxi drivers showed up on their driveway & just ushered us in. Many times we ended up in cabs that dont know the way, refuse to on the meter and tried to extort for higher rates when taking us to airport. Also when we took taxis from other areas back to hotel, some taxis took detours and pretended not to know where the hotel is. When we called back to the hotel for help, they were pretty much useless and not alert enough for our safety.
