Great potential, but showing signs of wear and neglect
A beautiful property located on a quiet stretch of beach. The hotel is older, which could be charming if it was better maintained. But maintenance is clearly lagging and it’s long overdue for a renovation. The electronic locks on both our doors no longer work, so we were asked to access the rooms by using the sliding glass doors on the balcony, locked with tiny locks and flimsy keys. The toilet seat in our room was worn, discoloured and cracking. Something that could easily have been replaced, but hasn’t been. We were also disappointed to find a strong durian smell in the room refrigerator. This could easily have been aired out and cleaned before the room was released for occupancy.
Meals were okay. Be aware that with the isolated location of the hotel you’re essentially stuck eating at the restaurant the entire stay, unless you want to drive 20-30 minutes towards the city. Not a place where you can order food online for delivery either.
Bottom line: this could be an okay place to stay for a day or two at a significantly lower price point. But for the prices they are asking it’s not really a worthwhile option at the moment.
