Bring your own Bed!
The hotel itself is fine. Nothing special, and a bit hard to find. (Even for the local taxi drivers) The staff were mostly very helpful, but you could tell that there was not much experience with most of them yet. The hotel, appears to only be about half way open, as several sections were closed off, and not being used during our stay (April 2016). Many of the advertised amenities do not exist yet, including the gym?
Another problem is the beds in the hotel. They were almost worse than just sleeping on the tile floor. By far the most uncomfortable bed I have ever tried to sleep on. Absolutely terrible! We ended up getting some mattress toppers, and several thick blankets and were able to make the bed good enough to sleep on for the three nights that we were there, but it was still not comfortable. The pillows were also very poor, they were very thick and could not be used unless you wanted to see a chiropractor the next day. I have stayed in hundreds of hotels in 30 years of traveling, but have never experienced anything like the torture device that they were calling a bed. The first morning after we arrived, we saw housekeeping cleaning the room next to ours, and noticed that they had also requested several blankets to try and soften their bed as well. This hotel appears to be solely catering to the huge Chinese tour group business that is thriving in Phuket. We saw dozens of tour buses arriving in front of the lobby during our stay. This being the case, maybe this hotel does not care so much about comfort or repeat customers. The word, "Soft Opening" should NOT be applied here! ;)
