Don't take tours with the hotel!!

First of all, we asked for a room with a double bed and two singles IF IT WAS POSSIBLE, and when we arrived, we had two doubles and a mattress on the floor. We were charged the full week for the mattress and asked for it to be removed on the first day (my children shared a bed, as they're young). I had written repeated emails to the hotel directly and through agoda before ariving and never received a response. I mentioned this upon check in and was told that the reservations are non-refundable, and I couldn't modify the booking either, despite never using the mattress on the floor.
We had cockroaches in the room twice (but just got rid on our own). The internet (wifi) is really bad - we were travelling as a group of 10, with two other families, and some of the group could never connect to the wifi during the whole week. My connection dropped out a lot, and even moving out onto the balcony or closer to reception didn't help. Messages and emails often arrived in bulk, hours after being sent.

Our biggest gripe was with a tour we booked. We had researched well, and wanted to visit the 4 island tour. We were orignally quoted 8000 baht from reception and I found elsewhere for 6000, so asked them to match the price. The real price is 4500 (the guy on reception wrote it on the paper, then scribbled it out). I asked specifically about weather conditions, as there had been periods of rain since we arrived, and if we could re-schedule if the weather was bad, or if the company cancelled on us, and he said "you can chane it or get your money back". The receipt says "non-refundable" and I pointed this out, and he just laughed and told me not to worry.

So, the day of the tour, instead of being taked to Lanta Old Town, we were taken to a very close by parking lot, with a long boat waiting. 2 drivers - both from Burma, sopke absolutely no English whatsoever (we had in our party, a Russian, Italian, Spanish and English speakers). So we began the trip all the way to the boo
