We stayed here in october 2015 in mae sariang while driving the mae hong son loop. Cons: the hotel was not in our GPS system so we had to look up Riverside hotel as it was close, the hotel decor seems cheap(ex a wood particle board as a bathroom door, padlock as a room lock, wood branches as clothes hanger), very very hard bed, very high and hard pillow and the area has a lot of nearby bars so it is LOUD at night. Pros: the owner who is a young ,and speaks very good English, bike rentals are free ( we rode to the nearby rice fields which was beautiful), there is also an outdoor Muay thai training centre which was cool to see, lots of restaurants and bars close by.
The city mae sariang is in a valley so it is pretty hot compared to doi inthanon or chom thong. There are also lots of mosquitos and other bugs that fly around at night.

Hip place with central location
