Could be good with a little more attention

Pros first: - Friendly staff - Right on the beach - Very nice pool area and good views
Cons: - Room is basic, a little old and shabby. Shower pressure & temperature is inconsistent and the door lock constantly jammed. We were in the pool house with windows looking directly onto the pool which meant for any privacy the shutters had to be closed all the time, making the room very dark. Air con is VERY loud - Reception is not manned all the time which is very irritating if you need something at night or in a hurry - Breakfast is REALLY basic, small choice and never changes. If you're here longer than a few days you'll be hunting for nearby breakfast restaurants (luckily there are several) - Expensive compared to others nearby (it was actually the most expensive hotel for our whole Thailand trip)
None of these issues are major. Its a shame that the hotel hasn't invested in the details which tarnishes the overall experience and lowers the value
