Nice place, but we hit a bad week

Our 5 night stay had the potential for a 5 star review. The location was perfect, the staff were nice, and the room was as described. The bed was very comfortable and the WiFi was excellent. However, we hit a bad week. There was a large renovation project on the property. Because of this the pool area was closed, the restaurant had limited options, and it was noisy. When I say noisy, I mean saws cutting metal and wood outside our room from 9am to 6pm every day. It’s hard to have a relaxing vacation with all the noise and no pool to use. Sleeping in late was not an option. We should have been notified of the renovation before pre-paying a non-refundable 5 night stay. I stated my concerns while staying there and received a sincere verbal “sorry”, but there was no remedy for the distractions. In our case, we didn’t feel our stay was a great value. Had the property been fully open without all of he noise, it would have been an excellent value.
