Great hostel but building noise ruined stay!
This is a fantastic hostel if you want to be a little out of the madness of central Bangkok. The Yard has a great common space with a bar, restaurant at the front and 2/3 more restaurants further up the road. It takes about 20 mins to get to the heart of Bangkok (Khao San Road).
The staff were friendly, helpful and made you feel like you were at home from check in to check out. They can’t do enough for you — they are on hand to recommend where to go, ensure you get charged a fair price for journey’s and give general advice about Bangkok/ Thailand.
There is a really family feeling at the Yard but he chilled vibe they are promoting and advising so strongly is currently ruined as they are under going building work. Workers are on site from 08:30 - 18:30 and there is no peace and quiet when they are there. I would go as far as saying don’t stay here until the work has been done as you will be woken up early each morning and there is building materials strewn across the the communal area. Call the hostel to find out when it will be finished. I’m sure when it’s done the hostel will be fantastic again!
