Good rooms, bad service
the room was good, nice, clean. it is close to the beach, but quite far to walk to the main street. service was terrible, staff were very difficult to communicate with. the most i've spent on a hotel in thailand, and the worst service i received.
i ordered a newspaper the first night by putting a note on the doorknob, in the morning i asked when it will arrive they were like: don't know. it will arrive later.
in the afternoon i came back and asked the same then they said they hadn't received the note. that it blew from my doorknob! (cause it's soo winding in thailand) they asked if i want a newspaper next morning. they didn't tell me when i specifically asked 8 hours earlier!
i had two phones in the room. i couldn't call a thai number from them. they didn't understand what i wanted when i called reception, instead one of the staff came to my room. i said i wanted to make a phonecall to confirm a booking. he said this is not possible. they could however call from the reception, which was something i guess.
i ordered a wake up call. of course they didn't call me, even though they asked me specifically what room i am in and what time i want wake up.
when you go to the beach bar that is part of the resort you don't get acknowledged. 7 people are standing around, they see that you are coming, they don't do anything. you have to literally shout to them, cause when you nod, smile and say hello, they do nothing.
and they don't speak english, you ask for a food menu, and you pretend like your eating - you still have to talk to 2 others before they understand.
