Excellent service, nice hotel
We had originally booked the Thai Villa, however when we arrived it was not exactly what we had expected. The room was small and dark and was quite aged, and it had a funny smell. We asked the staff if they had any other rooms and they offered us the junior suite for an extra A$250(ish), which we decided to do. It was definitely worth it - the suite was lovely, modern, clean and still had a nice thai kind of feel to it. The staff were so lovely too, they were helpful and friendly and polite. The restaurant was okay, had a little bit of a B-grade feel to it however again the staff were just gorgeous. The food was reasonable too.
The location was great, Lamai obviously being the quieter of the two big beaches. We weren' t looking for a party week, and Lamai was still busy enough to go out and have some drinks when we wanted to and not be the only ones doing so.
Overall, we had a lovely week staying at Samui sense and would definitely recommend it, so long as you stay in a suite. I wouldn't bother getting anything less.
