Didn’t realize the room I booked had no window and just a bit of a walk from hotel to sukhumvit

The room was, essentially, a shoebox. However, if you can get past that, the room basically has everything you need: a fridge, a kettle, TV with English channels and a safe. The bathroom was clean, with a rain-shower shower head. The sheets and pillows were also clean, and were very comfortable. Wall is a bit thin, and you will probably knock your elbow against it a few times XD. Receptionists were polite and cheerful.
Location-wise, the immediate area is quiet, but there are plenty of bars, massage parlors and dining options further down the road towards Holiday Inn. If you're a Muslim, not to worry: there are plenty of dining options for you in that area.
It's about 15 mins walk (leisurely walk, mind you) from Phrom Phong BTS, but there are pavements all over, and there's a park nearby, so you don't feel the walk. There are plenty of tuk-tuks and motorcycles in the area, also, and you can always call a Grab (the Asian version of Uber/Lyft).
I would definitely stay there again.
