Looking for an island getaway we found Andalay in Koh Libong. The island is located in Trang and is not a big tourist location. So we expected nice and quiet beaches. To go to Koh Libong you must take the boat from had yao pier. From the Koh Libong pier, you must either arrange a resort pick-up or a motor tuk tuk taxi. The resort is located on the western beach of the island. The resort is very new and comes with a lot of facilities. There is a good restaurant and a massage bungalow. When we arrived at our bungalows the first impression was really good, however looking a bit better you start to notice the flaws in design of the huts. The interior look very nice, using a lot of wooden branches and tree trunks that are laminated. Use of a lot of glass make it very light inside. However the sliding doors do not seal off the bungalow from the outside. So there was a variety of insects and pests in our bungalow. We had cockroaches, mice and mosquitos in our bungalow. Which is not really nice considering the pricing of the bungalows. The faclilites such as the restaurant and swimming pool are excellent. You can also use kayaks to explore the coastline. All in all a good place to stay, however it does need to ramp up its cleanliness and the build quality of the bungalows to meet its pricing
