Loved Samui, not the resort

The resort needs a face lift - first impressions are of a tired reception area in need of cleaning and a refurbishment. Checkin and check out process took way too long, the resort was practically empty but our room was not ready. The bed and pillows were well used and hard although the room itself was nice. The place was over run with mosquitos and although they fogged every day, we saw no evidence of this and were all badly bitten. There are better places to stay on the island and as regular visitors we should know!
