AMAZING Resort - best service, location, and food

The beach was gorgeous. There were not too many people at the resort (didn't feel crowded) even though we came at the peak season of Christmas time. The water was a great temperature and the pool was a good size if you didn't want to go in the ocean on your own private beach (a rare find on Samui). The gardens surrounding the property make it feel like a paradise all your own and the cottages are spacious and have beautiful views of the ocean crashing on the rocks below. The staff is exceedingly friendly, they best of met in Thailand - and I live here! The food was excellent - a bit pricey for Thai food but the same that you would find for western food in Bangkok, which isn't bad since you're on an island. The drinks were well made and there was a large selection of tropical fruity drinks if you wanted something more special than a gin and tonic. We had a beach barbecue night that was just to die for, including fire dancers! And if it rains? No problem... there are DVDs that you can borrow FOR FREE and FREE internet - go figure! Why can't every resort be so accommodating? And the fact that the Tongsai Bay isn't a chain makes all the difference - you could pay $1000 a night for the same room at the Centara resort that is on the EXACT same bay but only without a private beach, but you won't get the same service and special little touches such as: pool boys fixing your towel on your chair for you, bringing you drinks on the beach with the wave of a flag, fresh made juice from any fruit made to order at breakfast, free DVD borrowing and internet, super clean bathrooms even on the beach, cold towels brought to you on the beach midday, and absolutely gorgeous Christmas decorations if you are going during the holidays.
I NEVER write reviews, but I've been on every continent except Antarctica and I live in Thailand now and have been to many resorts ... but I absolutely cannot stop raving about the superior quality of the Tongsai Bay Resort. By far the best resort!
