We stayed here for three nights in the beginning of February. Upon an early arrival, the front desk staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable until check-in. The pool located on the premises is very relaxing and quiet, filled mostly with couples and the occasional family. During our stay, during peak season, finding chairs at one of the two pools was no problem.
The hotel is a 5 minutes walk on a path to the Centara Grand Hotel. Being the sister hotel, guests at the Villas have full use of the facilities and are even able to put bills onto their room at the villas. Having the ability to use facilities at both hotels contributed largely to our satisfaction. Despite other people commenting that the hotel is a long walk into town (it is about twenty minutes), the walk is mainly on the beach, which even at night has children and families playing. Yes, you will sweat, but it is by no means necessary to complain about having to take a 200 baht taxi if you are travelling with young children or the elderly.
The rooms were dated, and instead of a complete renovation it is obvious that they only changed fixtures, lighting, and bed sheets to update it. The views from the ocean facing rooms did live up to their expectations. I would recommend it to somebody who has a mid range budget and wants access to good facilities.
