Stylish, homie and comfortable resort

After a poor night's stay at another "resort" north in the Golden Triangle, we were pleasantly surprised with Maryo. The layout of the resort flowed very well, with an open air restaurant, infinity-style pool and paths leading to different units. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean, just what we needed! The pool was very nicely designed, with what we believe was saltwater as opposed to chlorine -- a first for us, and quite preferable!
We had dinner at the resort restaurant. Can't remember what it was now after all the places we've been, but I do remember ordering a pasta and a Thai dish, both of which were flavored well and were appropriately priced. We were happy to get a tasty non-Thai dish, since it's smartest to stick with thai food at most restaurants in Thailand. Lastly, the complimentary breakfast was very elaborate and delicious, from fresh fruit to stir-fry and other yummy treats. Thanks!

Great place for a stay in Chiang Rai
