had a pleasant stay but security issue concern

The hotel located in central of hatyai, accessible to foods stall, malls and etc by walking distance. However, the receptionist request to holding guest passport till the day of check out which is doesn't make any sense. they should make a photocopy instead. Other than that, overall is fine.
