Breakfast, locations on beach are positives
overall, this is a functional place and one in which i missed a touch of warmth and hospitality. its ok if one wants a quiet place to come back to after a day of sightseeing and maybe a day of lounging around doing very little.
it is understandable that the quality of rooms and facilities will vary by price- however a few really small and inexpensive touches would help the budget traveller feel special and thought about/for instance, it would help to have the closet sliding doors work smoothly; air circulation and proper/even cooling in the room, a small handle on the inside of the main door would help close it easier, towel hook in the bath area, properly working shower head. just because one is on a budget does not mean that one cannot have small conveniences
breakfast was simple but good and adequate. the thai food is average and the western food unimpressive.
the service staff were helpful- though it would be nice if resort kept essential travel information handy e.g. printed details of timings of ferry + bus transfer to suratthani (only one/two ferry trips have bus transfer to the airport attached not every one as i was given to understand)
i missed that touch of warmth in the overall feel of the resort - there is a sense of detachment and lack of engagement - which may work for some. it doesn't for me and i find there is little reason to go back or recommend this resort
