Lovely resort with amazing staff

we stayed at thanya twice during our trip and didn't regret that choice - the resort is nicely located at the end of the beach, peacefully and quiet with nice and clean bungalows. personally, i would prefer if the seaview bungalows were right on the beach instead of having the pool inbetween, but i guess it's perfect if you have small kids you want to watch. on our first stay, the breakfast left quite a bit to be desired, but on our second stay a week later they had already listened to feedback and greatly improved breakfast, making it the best on our whole trip! but where the thanya really shines is service: the hotel managers are more dedicated and concerned about the well-being of the guests than anything i've ever seen. i was sick the first 3 days of our stay, and they would do everything to make things easier for me and my girlfriend: when she went to buy some water, they sent her back and brought us a whole tray of water bottles (which they never charged!), when she wanted to get something to eat they sent someone to the bungalow to take our order, every breakfast from there on would be brought to the bungalow and they were constantly asking if there's something they could do to make things easier for us. as soon as one of the nicer bungalows near the pool & restaurant was free they offered us to move there, making things a lot easier while i was sick. needless to say i would give them 6 stars for staff performance if i could :-). wholeheartedly recommended for everyone searching for a nice and quiet resort with an amazing staff. if you're searching for party, nightlife or shopping look somewhere else, but then you shouldn't have come to koh ngai to begin with :)
