There has to more than a beautiful home

I was a little concerned about needing to have the taxi driver call Baan Noppawong to get directions but felt we were getting a great place based on the reviews. When we arrived we weren't actually in a residential neighborhood but in an alleyway behind a Mercedes dealer and next to a series of shops. The young lady who checked us in was nice but her English was not sufficient enough to answer our questions regarding local access to public transportation. When we finally got to our room it was extremely small with only a coat rack with four hangers for our clothes. There is no chest to place folded clothes. The room was big enough for a double bed, a small desk, a small table, and the coat rack. If you don't like living out of your suitcase you won't want to stay here. Two major things that we noticed included the lack of a simple room guide providing info on such things as local transportation and we found a charge sheet for any damages that may occur to the room. An example of a charge is 2000 baht for a broken toilet seat. Our toilet seat was broken so I immediately went and notified the young lady at the desk and she smiled indicating that they knew it was broken. I have to wonder if we would have been charged the fee if I hadn't went to the desk. The management of the establishment spent money on beautiful brochures with photos of the home and a map with general locations of local sites but if a portion of that money would have been spent on a simple room guide it would have done wonders for our stay.
The next morning we got up early and went downstairs for breakfast at 8. The young lady we met the night before hadn't completely set up so we had to wait a few minutes. Our breakfast was adequate until we found hair in our food. After a horrific day of finding our way to and back from the weekend market we decided to move to a new hotel.
Baan Noppawong is a beautiful home and yes it's quiet but the service provided by the staff was lacking
