Home away from home in Krabi
We booked Leelawadee and an AirAsia flight at 3am during a hectic stay in Bangkok, comforted by the relatively small number of reviews (and the feeling that, if the trip turned sour, our review would have greater weight).
Thankfully, there were no real hidden surprises. The resort is sufficiently out of Ao Nang to keep Krabi within easy reach. Rooms are furnished and kept in good condition; the professional photos accurately reflect the rooms. Unfortunately, the hot water during our stay seemed pretty temperamental and perhaps more kitchen appliances should have been provided—for the price, however, it still presents good value (minibar also not there to rip you off!).
As probably has been mentioned before, what really makes Leelawadee an excellent choice is the personal service provided by Caroline (+ Paul). From arranging scooters and an airport transfer, to suggesting potential islands to visits and various activities, we came with little clue as to what we were in for, but left feeling oddly familiar with the place. It can't really be restated enough, but the welcoming attitude really makes the difference!
