The Hyatt Place is in a good position for access to Phom Prong train station although the walk there with any sort of baggage is problematic due to the poor condition of the footpath, a common problem in Bangkok. Although the hotel is quite modern and the staff are friendly, the reason I am not overly happy is that I am used to the excellent service one receives when in Thailand, especially in the hotels. Although it is a minor issue I wasn't happy with the fact that I had to get my own tea or coffee when having breakfast. Yes, it is petty but when I pay good money for a nice hotel I expect a little table service when eating. Out room was small, but the bed was comfortable and the air con worked okay. However there was only one chair at the side table so my wife and I could not sit together to discuss issues. One of us had to sit on the edge of the bed whilst the other was at the small table. Once again these are minor issues but they may be important to some people.
