Lovely room and balcony. Vere clean. Good service. A bit noisy from the street at night. And you can hear all neighbours very clear.

Krabi Town is the place to stay if you want both a practical base to explore the area and want to experience life in a functioning but quiet provincial Thai town rather than a package tourist ghetto. K Guest house is kind of rustic but very friendly and, being largely made of wood, it has a really individual feel. For a place at the 'budget' end of the range you can't do much better. They also do great on the range in terms of the rooms they offer. I took an all wood room over the restaurant (shared bath) on the second floor, but the staff showed me some great rooms further up the hall. Absolutely huge with private bathrooms and hot showers and a funky little wood balcony to hang out on. If you are super budget then they have good clean rooms downstairs that will do the job as well. Functional but a really good deal. Wifi works great in the restaurant and reception area and is good and fast.
Out at the front they have a laid back restaurant and it serves breakfast and lunch... Good sandwiches and snacks. Egg on toast is a winner and they know the meaning of 'tea'.... English people take note.... Dinner time you are ten minutes from the night market at the boat pier where the Thai food is wonderful.
Staff here are really, really friendly and efficient and that is what makes the place for me. They also run a little travel agency with no fuss and get things done.... Boats to Phi Phi, buses to Bangkok, plane tickets and so on.... I got my whole onward itinerary sorted out here.... All with no fuss and plenty of knowledge (and good natured humour)... They sorted me out with a bus connection to Surat Thani and an onward train to Bangkok... No hassle.
Really nice place. Laid back. Super cool staff. Loved it.
