So the location is in a quiet area but if you do not have your own transport things are a little difficult. There is not food here but luckily a resort just down the road does some amazing fresh and healthy food (Coca Resort)...and they also has a working pool. Baan Phu Chalong currently does not. Even though the weather is raining, it would have been nice to have the pool option I was expecting. (I like swimming in the rain) My room was nice and clean and good size. Was not a fan of it's location - on the driveway, first room, glass facing a current construction site. Did not feel comfortable having curtains open(lone female). I would go for a poolside option if I were you. Staff from my small dealings were pleasant but don't expect much English. There is also a nice friendly fella who looks after the local shrine - very smiley. I walked to Chalong Wat - it's a nice stroll if not raining or too hot. Other than that and the Botanical gardens on the doorstep, you shall need transport. Taxis etc here are a lot more expensive than other places in Thailand.
