Good price, good location. Easy walk to train station and plenty of great street food all around.
Thung Wualaen Beach, about 19klms to the north, is reached by yellow songtaew and costs 30 baht one way. Songtaews serve this beach every hour, the last one returning at about 4:30pm. The songtaews can get overcrowded and uncomfortable at any time. This is an excellent beach for swimming...the water is very clean and clear however there are few trees, no chairs or shady places to sit. Best time to come here is early in the morning before the sun gets too hot.
Hotel wifi download speed a bit slow, TV reception fuzzy, free instant coffee and cookies provided in the lobby each morning, aircon struggles to keep cool.. ceiling fan is more effective. No shampoo provided, only small soaps. Be careful of the bathroom entry, easy to hit your head if you’re tall. Water coolers provided in vestibules.
The only downside to this hotel is the staff, who are distant, unfriendly and unwelcoming.
