Beware the surprise fees

Warning: There is a 1500 baht per day charge for pets. I did not realize this in advance. They also ask for a 3000 baht deposit, but they were willing to take 2000 baht since I did not have that much cash on me. The normal deposit is between 1000-2000 at upper-class local hotels. Basically, they would have liked it if I handed them 6000 baht when I walked in the door, after having already paid for the rooms.

The room was luxurious, but small. Doubltree also will not escort delivery men to your door, so you have to go downstairs and over to the lobby to meet him. This is pretty average in Bangkok. This may come off as an advertisement, but I honestly spent the two days there regretting paying so much extra to try out this supposedly nicer hotel.

To be fair, the design and workmanship in the room was incredible. The marble floors ran through the entire room and the bathroom was pretty amazing. I have stayed in many hotels in Bangkok, and this is definitely in the top two nicest/cleanest/fanciest. They have plugs around the room (unusual in Thailand), and even have hdmi and other types of outlets near the TV - incredibly convenient.

They also have complimentary coffee, and nice mugs to drink it in.

Room service: Terrible. I ordered French Toast at the insane price of 220 baht for two pieces of bread and it came stone cold. It wasn't like, "Oh, this sat on the counter a little too long," it was more "They made this four hours ago and didn't even bother to heat it up before bringing it to me." I didn't get sick after I ate it, so I gave it a two star rating.

The staff was very polite and understanding, and I do not blame them at all for my experience. However, I can't imagine a situation in which I would intentionally stay here again.
